Chapter Thirteen:  Snowbound

Snow Storm
No sooner than they had begun work on their big plans, than winter decided to fight back. After returning to his office at Ravenhurst, the second thing Dean Eobseo did (greeting KySi is always first) was to check the weather (he's old, that's what they do). The forecasters were talking about a storm brewing off the coast, which, if it kept moving and growing like it was, could bring record low temperatures and snowfall to Zeitgeist. So the Dean set about triple- and quadruple-checking that the school was properly prepared for a big snow. Now, Zeitgeist usually doesn't get much snow, but the Dean, for a time, lived where epic blizzards were common and, despite giving him a reputation of being a worrywart, he was constantly bugging Campus Services and the Zeitgeist City Council to be prepared for storms that may or may not ever happen. Seriously, he kept a huge stock of boots, gloves, shovels, and a host of other snow gear that drove the school's accounting and materials handling folk nuts. But, as we shall see, they were handy things to have about once every century or so.

Oblivious of the looming storm, the girls and their cohorts kicked it into high gear, making phone calls, planning stages, eating cheese puffs, picking outfits, ordering supplies, crying, eating more cheese puffs, and so on. A mere twenty-four hours into their efforts, things were beginning to take shape, but so too was the storm. At the behest of the Dean, Campus Safety issued a storm alert. Despite the fact that the school had tunnels which connected all of the buildings (thus eliminating any on-campus travel hazards), there were a number of students and faculty that didn't live on campus, who would potentially be trying to commute in dangerous conditions, so classes and all LGC events were canceled for the rest of the week. This decision was unprecedented, as the Glass had never closed due to weather (or anything else for that matter), not to mention that it wasn't even snowing yet. Regardless, Dean Eobseo was worried, so he made the call. (He also made the evening news, where it was suggested that he might be losing his marbles.)

Throughout the campus, Mimzy delivered the news of the school’s closing. TinTab, who were, at that time, sitting at the Crumpet Hall kitchen counter, watched the announcement on the refrigerator’s screen.

"Huh, I didn't even know there was a screen over there," Tabitha remarked.

"Yep, they're everywhere. More importantly, no class means that everyone will be distracted and it will be harder to get them to focus on our project!" Tinsley exclaimed.

"That's true," Tabitha said. “And if the Dean is right, this will cause a lot of disruption throughout the city, which could cause even more delays. But if he is wrong, I am afraid that people will ridicule him."

At that moment Kari and Sarah came skipping in through the front door singing, "It's snowing, it's snowing!"

Tinsley looked out the window, and sure enough, big flakes were starting to come down. Hanging her head and shaking it, she muttered, "Stupid snow."

Sensing Tinsley's desperation had something to do with Yena and the other children, Tabitha patted her on the back and said, "Perhaps we should do a vidcon with Yena so we can get her input on the show. Maybe we could ask her to do a little fact-finding for us or something."

Tinsley brightened up and replied, "Brilliant. She could communicate with the other kids and find out what they would like to see." Tinsley high-fived Tabby and said, "The snow may be stupid, but you are not."

Tabitha smiled and then ran her hand under some cold water to ease the sting from Tinsley's overly enthusiastic hand slap. While she was nursing her hand, she looked out the window toward the west and saw how white and looming the sky was becoming. "I think that a lot of people will be apologizing for doubting Dean Eobseo," she mumbled to herself.

Beware the Ides of March
By evening, the snow was coming down thick and steady and the temperature was falling. Since most of the Crumpets were excited by the snow, they decided to make a nice “family-style” dinner for EinBe. To this end, each Crumpet (in teams of two) made something from the supplies they had on hand, as a game they were not allowed to go to the store, Thronbury, or anywhere else for additional ingredients (because they didn't have much to work with frozen pizzas were at the ready to fill-in after the game).  While the girls cooked, Yulia commented to Analey that there was now enough snow on the ground for them to build a snowman or have a snowball fight.

"True, but tomorrow is supposed to be stupid cold and windy, so we should go out tonight after dinner, before it gets too bad," Analey replied.

"But what about Buttercup? She hates the snow," Yulia questioned. YuAn knew that Tinsley would never voluntarily have fun in the snow, but that her sense of duty would require her to do so if punishment demanded it, and weirdly enough, she would actually have fun. So they machinated and decided that a game that Tinsley would lose needed to be played.

YuAn discreetly spread the word of their conspiracy against Tinsley, which resulted in Tabitha announcing a contest. "To make this more interesting, EinBe will judge our dishes," she said.

However, before she could go on Bess shrieked, "Where did this come from?! I can't play favorites and I'm sure that you will insist on a punishment for the losers. How could I be responsible for something like that?!"

"It's okay, Bess," Tabitha said, winking at her. "The punishment will be light and we will forgive you in advance. Not to mention that this will be a blind taste-test, so you won't know who you are condemning."

Because Tabitha needed Bess's natural reaction (Tinsley is a hard girl to trick), she didn't tell her about the ruse right away. Instead, during her announcement, she slipped EinBe a note that read: "This is a joke. Kari and I will be the losers, so just play along, K?"

The note instructed them to ask, "What is the punishment going to be," which Bess did.

Tabitha explained that the losers would have to catch snowballs in a baseball cap. Once they each had successfully caught three, the punishment was over.

"Oh, well that sounds innocent enough. I guess I can do it," Bess concluded. Naturally she wasn't taking into account that the snowballs weren't going to be tossed in an easy-to-catch fashion. Instead they would all be tossed at one time, so the catchers would have to try not just to catch snowballs, but to also try to dodge them.

Even though Tinsley was confident in the dish that she was making with Sarah, she didn't think much of the snowball idea and tried to suggest an alternative. "While this sounds like a fun idea, I am afraid that it is too dark out for this to work," she said.

Kari's eyes narrowed. "Too dark? Mimzy turn the backyard lights on full, please." With that, a bright glow shone in through the north windows.

Tinsley took a few side steps and peered out at the bright winter wonderland. Narrowing her eyes, she squared off with Kari, "Well-played. Okay, let's see whose dish is the best."

Kari struggled to keep her game face as she made her way over to Tinsley. Sounding as tough as she could, she said, "Let's dance," and TinKa shook hands like they were getting ready to rumble.

Once the three dishes were prepared, EinBe were seated at the dining room table, where they were given samples in random order. First up, Ramenspuds (ramen noodles mixed with mashed potatoes and vegetables). Next came GCPBBC (grilled cheese with peanut butter, banana and chocolate). Finally there were Creamy Dill Fries (french fries with cream cheese and dill pickle bits). During the serving process, Kari had given EinBe hand signs to indicate which dish should lose. Everyone sat down and ate their dinner before the results were given, resulting in the quietest meal ever served at Crumpet Hall.

Finally the big moment arrived. EinBe feigned conferring, and then announced that second place went to the Creamy Dill Fries (which were Yulia and Analey's), and that the winner was the Ramenspuds (which were Tinsley and Sarah's).

Tinsley jumped to her feet, grabbed Sarah, and exclaimed, "Yea-yea, we won, we won!" Yulia and Analey looked across the table at TabKa wondering what went wrong with their plan. Tabitha gave them a subtle "it's okay” hand gesture, and the group readied to go outside for TabKa's punishment.

Snow Fight
Once outside they found that the snow was already deeper than anyone had seen before (in Zeitgeist anyway). As they arranged themselves for the snowball toss AnYu cornered Tabitha to find out what the deal was with the change-up, to which she explained, "Sorry for the last minute change. I think that this will actually get her better. Besides, you guys were throwing poor Sarah under the bus for no reason."

"Oh, dang, we didn't even think about Sarah getting hosed in the deal!" Yulia said with regret.

"No kidding. We owe her a big-time apology," Analey added as she looked over at Sarah, who was blissfully unaware of what had happened.

Tabitha rallied YuAn saying, "Regardless, we got Tinsley to come out into the snow, so let's go have some fun!"

While YuAnTab were talking, EinBe positioned themselves on the sidelines and Enid whispered to Bess, "I am glad they told us to vote the way we did because I certainly would not have voted for the Ramenspuds. The grilled cheese thing on the other hand was actually pretty good."

Bess agreed and they turned their attention to the snowball toss.

TabKa positioned themselves in an open area of the yard where they were then partially encircled by TinSaYuAn. TabKa held out their hats and said, "Let's do this!" whereupon TinSaYuAn began frantically making snowballs and then collectively tossing them into the air so that there was a regular barrage coming down on TabKa. Because this snow was from the leading edge of the storm coming out of the west, it wasn't the best for making snowballs. With each attempt, most of the balls would come apart, showering the tossers with just as much, if not more, snow than was hitting the catchers. TabKa actually each managed to catch more than three blobs of snow within the first two tosses, but they had no intention of saying anything because TinSaYuAn had gone completely crazy and were giggling and hurling snow at each other. In fact TabKa casually sauntered over to EinBe with their hats containing the required number of snowballs to watch the mayhem.

Now far more snow-packed than TabKa, TinSaYuAn fell down in the snow still giggling and trying to catch their breath.

Tabitha held up her hand and quietly said, "Wait for it."

Suddenly Tinsley became silent as she stared up into the falling snow. YuSaAn realized this and they too became silent. Tabitha began counting down with her fingers: "In five, four, three…"

As suddenly as she became silent, Tinsley shot up to her feet, exclaiming, "We've been duped!"

Tabitha calmly finished her count down: "...two, one, run!"

TabKa sprinted away into the yard, leaving EinBe alone and unprotected.

Bess softly said, "Oh, damn," as a barrage of snow blobs came hurtling in from TinSaYuAn.

Soon the backyard of Crumpet Hall was a cacophony of complete mayhem, with everyone wildly chasing each other around and flinging snow everywhere. Covered with snow Enid suddenly skidded to a halt near the back gate. There on the gate’s monitor were Amber and Jimmy.

"Hi, Enid, don't mind us. Please continue," they said in unison whilst wearing devilish grins.

Enid was completely frozen, save for shouting, "Tabitha!"

Tabitha came up behind her, as did Kari. "Oh, hi, AmJi," Tabitha said.

"Hello to you," Amber replied. "And thank you so much for giving us access to the backyard cameras. I can assure you that this entire affair has been captured in stunning high-def."

At this point, Gracie appeared with AmJi and said, "Excellent, my young apprentices, our ZBC overlords will be pleased with this, our first bit of reality show footage."

"You mean that you have already talked to ZBC, and they are on board with doing the show now?!" Sarah squeaked in astonishment.

Gracie confidently replied, "Yep, beginning next week, the ZBC PDs (producers) and their crew will be here to film your every move.Turns out kicking business butt is super easy."

What Gracie didn't tell them was that one of ZBC's big projects had just fallen through and they were scrambling to find work, so she got lucky.

"Oh, good. Starting on Monday. So this snow fight really isn't going to be in the reality show, right?" Enid said with great hope as she discreetly dropped the snowball in the hand.

Jimmy grinned impossibly wide and answered, "Oh, no, it will. This will be both Amber’s and my first contribution to a nationally televised show.” Amber leaned in, grinning with a thumbs up. “You see, Gracie and Tabitha made sure that today would be the official start when they talked to the ZBC PDs a couple of hours ago. Of course, this is assuming that our video is good enough to be included, and I am pretty sure it will be."

As you might expect, because of Tabitha's deception, TabKa were summarily attacked and received punishment worthy of the crime. Of course Kari, like Sarah, was really only guilty by association — something that she tried to point out, but she still got just as much snow in her face as Tabitha, whereas AmJiGra got none. Life can be so unfair.

Snow Day Party
The morning after the Crumpets’ snow fight, they awoke to find that it had snowed all night, dumping nearly half a meter on a city that typically doesn't get anywhere near that much in an entire winter. While the record-breaking snowfall was tapering off, the wind was picking up, causing drifting, which effectively shut down the city. As Tinsley had feared, the snowbound students were already bouncing off the walls with excitement over the unusual situation and had begun to gather at Thornbury. While the snow put a crimp in Tinsley's planning plans, at least her schoolmates were being careful not to take advantage of the cafeteria staff, those who live on campus and were thus available to work despite it being a snow day. With the students helping to cook and clean, Thornbury was, from first light, host to an all-day party.

Joining their fellow Lookzens, the Crumpets mingled and ate, cooked and cleaned, sang and danced, and even told a few jokes (although they left most of that to the comedy students).

Now, Tabitha knew that, despite being good-natured and trying to simply join in and have fun, Tinsley's mind was elsewhere. So after a bit she decided that it was time to call Yena. "Hey, Tinbot, what would you think about having a vidcon with Yena on the top mezzanine? We could all talk to her, and she could see and hear some of the chaos going on here at Thornbury."

Tinsley looked at her red Baby-G watch and said, "She should be done with her morning therapy by now. You rally the troops and I'll get Jimmy. K?"

Tabitha gave her a strange look and said, "Jimmy is of course welcome to join us, but I feel bad about how we use him as a mobile IT station all the time. Maybe we should just use one of our phones for the vidcon?"

Tinsley thought about it for a moment and agreed that they did seem to lean on him pretty heavily from time to time. Just then, he rolled by so Tinsley stopped him and asked how he felt about all of this: "Jimster, are we burdensome for you?"

Jimmy pondered this for a moment, and with a perfectly straight face, replied, "Yes, yes you are."

Tabitha freaked out a little and started apologizing profusely. TinJi looked at each other and shook their heads.

"Woah, Tabby-cat, ease down. I was joking. Okay, actually, I wasn't. You guys really are pretty needy, but I do love helping where I can," he told her while trying to keep a straight face.

Tabitha smiled and, a tad over-acted and with heart signs, said, "Jimmy oppa, we would be lost without you. Hopefully you know how much we love you."

Jimmy blushed a bit and replied, "Yea, I know. What do you want me to do?"

A Tiny Vidcon
With Jimmy sufficiently buttered up, they gathered on the upper mezzanine overlooking the party. The Crumpets lined up in front of the railing and waited as Tinsley got in touch with Yena. Despite being rather drained, Yena was determined to vidcon with her Crumpets, so she asked for a minute to freshen up. After Yena's mom helped her fix her hair, put her bow on, and pinch her cheeks, she was ready to be seen.

"Ok, Yena Ssi, I'm going to turn you over to Jimmy now," Tinley said with a smile and a wink as she signaled Jimmy to switch to the bigger camera and monitor.

Jimmy appeared on Yena's screen and he greeted her warmly. Yena returned his greeting, saying, "Annyeong, Jimmy oppa."

After exchanging heart signs, Jimmy counted, "In three, two, one…"

Meanwhile, as Tinsley lined up with her unnies, she looked at Tabitha, pushed out her bottom lip and said, "She looks so tired."

"Hopefully we can give her some strength," Tabitha replied, rubbing Tinsley's shoulders.

Jimmy pushed the button, and Yena and her Crumpets could see each other. Once their excited and happy greetings were complete, the girls explained to her how they were hoping she could do some research for them, and as you might expect, Yena was more than happy to take the assignment.

With their diminutive business deal wrapped up, the girls then showed Yena the party and let her virtually join in. Their littlest fan was thrilled to see how fun the Crumpets’ school seemed to be, and wherever Jimmy took her within the party, she was the center of attention. At one point the girls decided to do a few songs, and thanks to technology, it was almost like Yena was just one of the students. However fatigue caught up to her, and by mid-way through their second song, she was fast asleep.

When the revelers realized that Yena was in dreamland, they quieted down, gushed over how cute she was, and sweetly said goodbye. Yena's mom thanked everyone and promised to show her the video of their reactions to her nodding off.

After signing off from their tiny vidcon, it took a bit for the party to get back to being boisterous and unhinged. Tinsley looked around at her comrades and said, "Wow, Yena sure can tug on the old heart strings. I hope she realizes how many people are pulling for her and how much she means to us."

Tinsley got a bit verklempt at this point, so the Crumpets all rallied around her so she could hide her tears, as she hated to cry in public especially when wearing a lot of eye makeup, and this was one of those days.

Digging Out
By afternoon the storm had fizzled out and the sun was starting to peek through the clouds. Even though Thornbury was still a din of merriment, some of the students had begun to take notice that Campus Services were now diligently working on clearing the snow. Despite there being enclosed access to all areas of the campus as well as to the buildings directly adjacent to the Glass, the operations and security staff — those who reside on site, that is — were determined to shovel and plow as much roadway and sidewalk as they could. Unfortunately, even with all of the excess equipment that the Dean kept in stock, the LGC was a big place and there just weren't enough hands to put it all to full use. Empathizing with the struggles of the campus staff, and feeling a sense of duty to their school, many of the students headed back to their dorms to bundle up and take on some of the burden of shoveling. As the word spread, the crowd at Thornbury quickly began to thin.

When Jimmy realized that everyone was going out to pitch in, his heart sank because he couldn't join his comrades in their battle with the snow. Not wanting anyone to stay back out of pity for him, he made an excuse that he was needed in the computer center and quietly slipped away. Sitting alone between the racks of buzzing servers, he watched on his chair’s monitor as the last of the students filed out of Thornbury to join the campaign. Despite the students having tidied up after themselves, Lola, the cafeteria manager, who had a bad back and definitely couldn't be shoveling, remained at her post in Thornbury to tie up a few loose ends. Jimmy decided to go see if he could help her.

Returning to Thornbury, Jimmy found Lola staring out the window, watching the throngs of students diligently clearing the school’s walkways.

Rolling up next to her, Jimmy softly said, "It almost looks like fun doesn't it?"

Lola looked over at him and asked, "Have you always been in a chair?"

Without looking away from the flurry of activity outside he solemnly replied, "Yes, well, I could walk a little when I was very young, but I don't remember what it was like."

Lola put her hand on his shoulder and said, "They need you more than you know. Regardless, not being able to join them is an awful feeling."

While Jimmy and Lola gazed out into the wintery brightness, Dean Eobseo came in and stood with them, saying, "I love their tenacity, but I am worried; I know Campus Services is keeping an eye on them, but it is so terribly cold out there."

Lola replied that she would start making some hot choco-nana (hot chocolate made with banana uyu) and some other warm beverages.

"That's a good idea, now we just need to get them to come in and warm up from time to time." the Dean said.

Jimmy pondered this for a moment, and rather suddenly and with great enthusiasm, announced an idea, "I can take it to them!"

Lola and the Dean looked at him, perplexed.

"Oh, sweetie, I think that the idea is for them to come in and warm up," Lola said.

Jimmy quickly answered, "Exactly! They — especially the ones who are working farthest from Thornbury — will be reluctant to leave their posts until their work is done. By going to them, I can get them to come into the nearest indoor areas for a bit."

"I see what you are getting at," the Dean replied. "But there are far too many Lookzens out there and the Glass is too big for you to get to all of them."

"Right. I'll call in my posse. We can take the drinks around in those coolers that have wheels, and use IR (infrared) thermometers to check on everyone's temperatures," Jimmy responded with excitement.

The Dean pondered Jimmy's idea for a moment and then said, "Okay, let's do it!"

LoJi and the Dean put their hands in and exclaimed, "Looking-Glass Fighting!"

Jimmy's Mad Dash
To say the least Jimmy was inspired. He may not have been able to wield a shovel in a meaningful way, but he could orchestrate and participate in support efforts that would keep his friends safe. Lola headed into the kitchen, Dean Eobseo went to retrieve the coolers and the IR thermometers, and Jimmy got on the phone to see if his dorm mates would come and help him with his mission. While Jimmy was on the phone, he headed back to his room to pick up a spare battery pack and charger that he could stage at Thornbury to keep things going. Now, going to the dorm was a risky business for Jimmy, as one of the floor’s RAs, Daejoon, was also his nurse, and he probably wouldn't be very keen on the idea of Jimmy racing around, popping outside over and over.

Despite Jimmy’s best efforts to be sneaky, just as he was about to board the elevator and slip away with his extra power supply, Daejoon came out of his apartment and asked what was going on.

Jimmy stammered, "Oh, hey, I'm…just taking some stuff down to the computer center."

Daejoon looked at him with suspicion and said, "An extra battery pack? This isn't going to be a repeat of last year's wheelchair-as-snowplow concept, is it?"

With an awkward smile, Jimmy replied, "Don't be silly. This snow is much too deep for that."

Daejoon told him to wait a moment and disappeared back into his apartment. When he returned, he held a new, black, EXID-logoed hwangsa mask in his hand. He gave it to Jimmy and said, "Here, wear this, it may help a little with breathing in the frigid air. Remember, if you catch pneumonia, it will mean a trip to the hospital and your mom will have both of our heads."

Jimmy took the mask, fist-bumped Daejoon, pushed the elevator call button, and with great sincerity said, "I owe you one."

Daejoon smiled and replied, "Actually, two. You still owe me from the snowplow incident. Not to mention the banana uyu caper, the everyone-needs-a-Gangnam-style-screensaver bit, the…"

Saved by the bell, the elevator arrived and Jimmy slipped away with Daejoon still rattling off the many ways that he owed him.

Back at Thornbury, Jimmy found that his mates had just arrived, so he rallied his troops: "Okay, we've got thermometers, coolers, and hot beverages. Some of our peeps have been out there for over an hour now, so let's get ‘em warmed up!"

With that Lola and Dean Eobseo began working on their second round of hot beverages while Jimmy and his mates headed out to make deliveries and take temperatures. Because his chair was pretty quick and he could easily pull two cooler carts at a time, Jimmy headed down to the parking garage, which was the farthest point where people were shoveling.

Racing down the long south tunnel, Jimmy had no music on. Rather, he was enjoying the feeling of rushing to his friends’ aid and listening to the insistent whirr of his chair wheels. Arriving at the parking garage, he took the elevator up and emerged from the pedestrian entrance. Rolling out into the frigid brightness, Jimmy slipped on his sunglasses and switched on his PA mic.

"Attention, Lookzens!" he exclaimed.

The volume was up a bit too high, which startled the busy workers, who looked over at him at first with mild irritation, but once they realized who was yelling at them, they all waved and yelled back, "Jimster!"

With the volume still too high, he replied "Sorry about the volume…oops, hang on…okay this should be better. Everyone, come in for a bit and have some hot choco-nana!"

Cheering, the shovelers came rushing over. Fortunately Jimmy had the presence of mind to unhitch the carts before he went out, otherwise backing out of the way of the incoming students would have been a difficult matter.

While the Lookzens warmed up in the garage lobby, Jimmy scanned their temperatures. In the end, he deemed that two of the shovelers should not go back out.

"Juma and Clarita, you both seem a bit chilled. Would you mind helping at Thornbury rather than shoveling?" Jimmy asked them.

Since neither of them really liked snow, they had no problem with the idea of coming in. With JuClar in tow, Jimmy readied to leave the parking garage and head back for more supplies. "Make sure you all come back in after about an hour. LGC fighting!" he called out to the shovelers as the elevator doors closed.

Faceplant
Back at Thornbury, JuClar helped Jimmy load up before they joined in the prep work (which now included dinner plans). Freshly stocked, Jimmy headed back out, and this time he went to Soshi Auditorium, which, not surprisingly, happened to be where the Crumpets were shoveling.

After arriving at the Soshi lobby, Jimmy popped out and greeted the girls, and invited them inside. Just as they were heading in to warm up, Skeeter came by in one of the school's plow trucks. When Sarah saw him, she grabbed a hot cider (Skeeter is lactose intolerant) and sprinted out to give it to him. Holding the steaming cup with both hands high in front of her, she bounded gracefully through the thick snow. Only a few meters from her goal, she lost her footing and did a faceplant. Amazingly she was still holding the cup up in the air and only lost a few drops through the plastic lid. Kari was the first to react and raced out to her. However, rather than helping Sarah, she instead snagged the cup of cider and proudly delivered it to Skeeter, who was in the midst of struggling with his seat belt, trying to get out to go to Sarah's aid.

"Thank you, but what about Sarah?" he asked as Kari handed him the drink.

Without looking back, Kari replied brightly, "Oh, she's fine." She then curtseyed and started back to the group.

While Kari finished the delivery, Yulia, who had followed her out, peeled Sarah out of the snow, and was now trying to brush the snow off of her clumsy friend.

Sarah, who was quite red-faced, shot Skeeter a heart sign and shouted, "I'm okay!"

With that the Crumpets, Bess, and Jimmy all applauded.

When KaSaYu got back to the lobby, Enid said, "Okay, I am sure that there is some weird reason why only Yulia tried to help Sarah. So, what is the dealio?"

Tinsley smirked, "Dealio? Who says dealio?"

"You do," Tabitha replied.

Tinsley gave it a little thought and said, "Yes, cool people say dealio."

Tabitha rolled her eyes and explained, "There was no hurry. Sarah was laughing, so only her travel buddy needed to help her."

Enid narrowed her eyes and said, "Really? How did you know she wasn't crying?"

Yulia fielded this one, saying, "Because her head was bobbing like this, not like this." (She was demonstrating this as she spoke.)

"I don't see a difference," Enid replied flatly.

Suddenly everyone but Enid were bobbing their heads and saying things like, "They are totally different, see?" and "It was definitely a laughing head bob."

Confused but out-gunned, Enid announced, "Well, I guess if worrywort Bess is buying this, so will I."

Even though Sarah was physically uninjured, she did get a lot of snow down her neck so Jimmy reassigned her to prep duties. Sarah didn't mind this and told him, "No problem. I will go back to the ranch and change into dry clothes, and then hit Thornbury."

Yulia put her arm over Sarah's shoulder and said, "Your skunk costume pajamas are still here at Soshi from when we filmed our “Eek” cosplay dance practice, so you should probably change now to avoid a chill."

Pretending to be  oblivious of Yulia’s attempt to further embarrass her, Sarah exclaimed, "Heck, yes, I'll wear it! If you wear your piglet PJs. In fact, all of you should wear your PJ costumes."

The Crumpets were completely on-board and EinBe thought it sounded like a cute idea, until Yulia pointed out that they too had cosplay PJs to wear.

Bess snickered and elbowed Enid,"That's right, you're a lamb."

"Hmm, that's better than a hamster," Enid fired back.

Bess narrowed her eyes and said, "Chipmunk. I was a chipmunk."

Catching ZZZs
For the next several hours, Jimmy relentlessly continued with his mission, darting back and forth, fretting over the well-being of his wards. When the sun started to get low in the west, Campus Services announced the end of shoveling for the day, which was probably the only thing that could have stopped Jimmy and his mad dash.

In the end, those Lookzens who weren't completely exhausted gathered at Thornbury for dinner and some subdued socializing. During their meal, Dean Eobseo thanked all of them for their hard work, and encouraged everyone to rest up over the weekend, as ZBC would be starting their filming of the Crumpets’ reality show on Monday, adding burdens to most everyone. Finally he announced that as a special treat and pre-thank you, the Crumpets would be performing an impromptu cosplay show right then and there.

The Crumpets, who had been conspicuously absent during the first part of the evening because they were working and getting ready behind the scenes, suddenly appeared, opening their little show with AOA's "Like a Cat." Then, as a special tribute to Jimmy, they did one of his favorite songs: 4Minute's "Crazy" (which is positively hilarious when performed in cute animal PJs). Everyone was having a very good time, but exhaustion took its toll; Jimmy wasn't the first to nod off, but he was one of the early casualties (although he insisted that he was simply resting his eyes). Only four songs in, the girls decided to do Mamamoo's "Hometown," which is so chill it could be — and in this case was — a lullaby.

Having been handed tickets to dreamland, the Lookzens, including EinBe, shambled back to their quarters. The girls, however, stayed at Thornbury and continued performing for a bit in order to give more footage to the ZBC PDs. Despite possessing unusual stamina, even the Crumpets had their limits, and already being dressed for bed, they eventually returned to their hall and dogpiled in the TV area.
